::: A bedroom makeover :::
She had me at: “out with the pink”. I am not much of a pink girl. But three years ago when Bela insisted she wanted her room all pink I thought that maybe it was a great idea, until it was really not great at all. Once we painted the walls pink, I knew I would never really appreciate it as much as she did. We brought all the princess dresses in and set down with fairies as we enjoyed a cup of tea. Her room has a big window that lets lots of light in. But that pink(!), it was everywhere. Her closet had a selection of pink dresses, pink socks and of course pink undies. I would squint my eyes every single time I walked in her room. Much to my dismay, soon enough, the princess gowns were handed to me for the donation box. Having two boys and a soon to be eight-year-old teenager, Frozen was never a big hit in our house. Little ponies were placed in the corner cabinet that never gets opened. Much like that scene from Toy Story where Jessie is just forgotten under the bed for years. So sad, I know. Slowly, Bela lost her interest in princesses and as you may have guessed, everything PINK! All of the sudden she was eight, and she was browsing Spotify to find some of her favorite music artists. So I knew that pink that I never really appreciated was about to be erased forever. Will I miss it? Maybe, but for now, let’s just say the makeover started and it is looking fabulous.
As soon as I finish the room I will be posting the photos here. Come back to check it out!
